Bernice King, daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., has strongly criticized rapper Sexyy Red for posting fake images featuring her late father on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The controversial posts, shared on X (formerly Twitter), included an AI-generated image of Sexyy Red holding hands with the civil rights leader and another where she appeared at the historic 1963 March on Washington.

The rapper captioned one of the images with “Happy MLK Day!!” and added another featuring Chief Keef and a sign reading “G.B.E. F— TRUMP.” The posts quickly sparked backlash.

On Tuesday, January 21st, Bernice King responded with a sharp rebuke, calling the images “intentionally dishonoring, deplorable, and disrespectful.” She added, “My father is not here to respond himself because he was assassinated for working for your civil and human rights and to end war and poverty. Please delete.”

The March on Washington, where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech, remains a cornerstone of the civil rights movement. Many found the AI-generated images disrespectful to his legacy and the struggle for equality.

Sexyy Red has previously made headlines for her political commentary. In 2023, she controversially voiced support for Donald Trump’s return to office, saying the country “needed Trump back.” However, her stance appeared to shift last year when she revealed she voted for Kamala Harris. Sharing photos of her “I Voted” stickers, she wrote, “Don’t tell us what to do with our coochies!! #Kamala4President.”

The posts, especially those involving Martin Luther King Jr., have reignited conversations about the responsible use of AI and the importance of honoring historical figures and their contributions.
