DaBaby wrote a heartfelt message about 50 Cent.

On Instagram, DaBaby wrote about how he’s been studying Fif and got the chance to tap in with him in person. DaBaby said, “Somebody I been studying for a MINUTE lent me a few hours of his time today. N*ggas so scared to let me in the room they fucked around & let me end up in the room w/ @50cent.” DaBaby continued, “Beyond grateful for the game. Couldn’t have come from a better source. Now watch me put this shit to use. #BackToWork.” Take a look:

50 responded and said, “”I lost pop before he could get it, This one already got it and he listen,” 50 writes. “I’m a teach him all the mistakes I made, so he can be better than me. THIS IS HIP HOP!”

XXL points out before Pop passed away on February 19, 2020, the Brooklyn rapper met 50. Fif got the chance to school Pop about the rap game, but any future moments would be cut short due to Pop’s life being taken away.

During an interview with The New York Times last July, 50 told the story of their first meeting.

“The experience was a little weird. Because when I first started talking to him in the office, I was watching, and he would look down at his telephone. He was typing at the same time. And there was a point where I’m like, is he listening? I got up so I can kind of see what he was doing, and when I got to the other side of the table, he wasn’t not paying attention to me, he was just writing what I said down. Dead serious.”

50 also executive produced Pop’s debut posthumous album, Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon. Pop’s second posthumous album, Faith, arrives July 16. Fif, unfortunately didn’t executive produce this one.
