You can call Roc Nation a superhero for the hood!

The entertainment company, founded by Jay Z in 2008 is more than just a brand that puts out music, they’re out here saving lives!

1.

Roc Nation came to Lil Uzi Vert’s rescue for music. The Philly native has been in a battle with trying to drop his album Eternal Atake but his deal with Generation Now wouldn’t allow him, according to Uzi.

Lil Uzi was so upset, he told his fans that he was “done with music,” but he was really just frustrated at his situation. He said, “you think I don’t wanna drop music? You just gotta understand when people don’t love you, they’ll hold your life if you sign a motherf—king … Hold that s–t against you.”

He created a “Free Uzi” campaign but that was short lived because Roc Nation gave him a management deal. Today (March 27) it becomes “official official,” Uzi’s name and picture were added to the artist management tab of Roc Nation’s website.

2.

Back in February when an 11-year-old boy from Florida was ARRESTED for not saying the pledge of allegiance, it raised a lot of questions. A substitute teacher told the student to say it and when he refused, he was ultimately put in handcuffs.

When Roc Nation heard the news, they stepped in and took care of it! Jabari Talbot was facing criminal charges and prosecutors wanted him to plead guilty or go into a program. He refused both and when Jay Z and Roc Nation stepped in, the case was dismissed.

3.

Jay Z said it best in the song “Friends” with Beyoncè, “when I say free the dogs they free ‘em!” Hov helped Meek Mill and 21 Savage get out of jail when many would argue that they shouldn’t have been placed there in the first place.

In Nov. 2017, Meek Mill was thrown in jail for violating his probation, facing 2-4 years, from a 10-year-old gun and drug charge. He was released in April 2018, and during his first day out, he joined forces with Jay Z and launched REFORM alliance.

Back in February when 21 Savage was detained by ICE due to an expired visa, Jay Z stepped in with his legal team. In a statement Jay-Z wrote the following: “the arrest and detention of 21 Savage is an absolute travesty, his U visa petition has been pending for 4 years. In addition to being a successful recording artist, 21 deserves to be reunited with his children immediately, #Free21Savage.”

9 days later, 21 Savage was back home with his family.
