DaniLeigh previewed an upcoming single and some fans aren’t feeling it.
Last week, DaniLeigh shared a snippet of her new song “Yellow Bone.” Online users called DaniLeigh out for being a colorist. Dani responded to the backlash and said,
“why I can’t make a song for my light skin baddies ?? Why y’all think I’m hating on other colors when there are millions of songs speaking on all types.. why y’all so sensitive & take it personal .. gahhhh damn.”
Her response to the backlash didn’t sit well with some celebrities like Karen Civil and Chika. Chika Tweeted to Dani that her apology was a “terrible response to valid criticism.”
DaniLeigh made another attempt to make things right but it backfired all over again. She pretty much said the same thing and apologized if she offended anyone. She said,
“I’m not a colorist. I’m not a racist. I date a whole chocolate man. I have beautiful dark-skinned friends.” Check it out:

On DaniLeigh’s page, one user said, “[ain’t nothing wrong with a yellow bone, ain’t nothing wrong with dark skin.] Another user commented, “make whatever type of music you [want to] make. They just be tweaking.”
