We still mourn the lives lost during the tragedy on November 5 at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival. As of November 30, a total of 10 victims died following the chaos from the concert. The youngest victim, Ezra Blount, 9, was laid to rest on Wednesday (November 24) in Dallas, Texas. In the latest report, Travis offered to cover the funeral cost for Blount, but his family rejected the offer. As reported on NYDN, the victim’s family got a letter from Travis’ lawyer, Daniel Petrocelli. The letter said how devastated Travis was and that he was committed to the healing process. “Travis is devastated by the tragedy that occurred at the Astroworld Festival and grieves for the families whose loved ones died or were injured. Travis is committed to doing his part to help the families who have suffered and begin the long process of healing in the Houston community.” At the end of the message, it said Travis wants to cover funeral costs for the 9-year-old. The lawyer added that if the family accepted the funds, it wouldn’t have an impact on their wrongful death lawsuit filed by Ezra’s dad, Treston Blount. They’re seeking $1 million in damages. Bob Hilliard, the lawyer representing the Blount family, said his client declined the offer. Hillard said, “Your client’s offer is declined. I have no doubt Mr. Scott feels remorse.” He continued, “His journey ahead will be painful. He must face and hopefully see that he bears some of the responsibility for this tragedy.” In addition, “for now,” however, Scott “must respect” that his own “devastation” is nothing compared to that of Ezra’s family and likened their grief to “a faucet of unimaginable pain that has no off handle.” He ended with,“To lose a child in the manner Treston lost Ezra compounds the pain. As a parent, Treston cannot help but agonize over the terrible idea that Ezra’s last minutes were filled with terror, suffering, suffocation and worst of all surrounded by strangers, his dad unconscious underneath the uncontrolled crowd.”Blount suffered damage to his lungs, kidney, and heart after being kicked, stepped on, trampled, and nearly crushed to death. The young concertgoer also had brain swelling that was caused by cardiac arrest. He passed away on November 14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tF_SHYLnmYwOn November 6, Travis issued an apology and released a video. Travis is caught up in 100 lawsuits; Drake was also named in one of the suits. He also spoke about the horrible incident and gave prayers for the victims. Travis vowed to pay for the funerals of the victims. In addition, offer mental health services for anyone impacted by the event. Via
