A new series about legendary boxer Mike Tyson is underway!

Jamie Foxx will play Tyson’s role.

As reported on Variety, the limited series is called Tyson. It’s based on Tyson’s life. The article reports Iron Mike said he’s been eager to tell his life story. “I have been looking to tell my story for quite some time. With the recent launch of Legends Only League and the excitement from fans following my return to the ring, now feels like the perfect moment.”

It hasn’t been picked up by a streaming service as of yet, but Antoine Fuqua will direct and executive produce via Fuqua Films. Martin Scorsese will executive produce via Sikelia Productions. Tyson said he looks forward to working with them. “I look forward to collaborating with Martin, Antoine, Jamie, and the entire creative team to bring audiences a series that not only captures my professional and personal journey but also inspires and entertains.”

Tyson is making a comeback. He stepped out of retirement last year and got in the ring with Roy Jones Jr. it resulted in a controversial draw. This year he was slated to fight Evander Holyfield but turned down the $35M opportunity. It’s not clear why, but the two fought in 1996 for the WBA heavyweight title and Holyfield won by TKO in round 11. In 1997, they had a rematch and Tyson infamously took a bite of Holyfield’s ear.

Tyson recently took to social media to say he’s not doing another event with Triller. He said, “Mike Tyson is not doing another event with Triller. Any Triller executive out there saying so is BS. Any future event will be with Mike Tyson’s @legendsonlyleague.”

Last year, Jamie Foxx was gearing up to play Tyson in a biopic. It’s not clear if that’s in the works, but Foxx made a “Tyson” transformation, and he’s ready to play the role. Take a look:

Foxx also has a series with Netflix and his daughter, called Dad Stop Embarrassing Me. Fans can start watching this on April 14.
