Kobe Bryant’s legacy will live on forever!
According to reports, the late basketball legend has a special day dedicated to him in Orange County, California. Kobe and his family lived there for most of his 20-year career in the NBA.
TMZ reports The Orange County Board of Supervisors voted today (August 12) to honor Kobe. They selected August 24 to be his day because, during his career, his numbers were 8 and 24, reported on the resolution. It also says that Kobe was a true inspiration.
“Kobe Bryant was a basketball legend that inspired so many globally to pursue their dreams and taught us hard work truly pays off.”
People can celebrate by helping people in need, engaging in community building, helping a young person in need or giving them encouraging words to follow their dreams.
On January 26, Kobe, alongside his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other people passed away in a horrible helicopter crash. They were flying to a basketball game before the tragic accident. Kobe’s wife, Vanessa, sued the helicopter company, Island Express Helicopters. The lawsuit also states that the pilot was going 180 miles per hour in the heavy fog and that the pilot failed to properly monitor and assess the weather prior to takeoff. The pilot, Ara Zobayan was previously disciplined in 2015 for violating federal flight rules and was flying with Express Helicopters at the time, reported on Bleacher Report.
