Kodak Black is doing whatever he can to get out of jail.
Earlier this week, Kodak and his legal team decided to sue the Federal Bureau of prisons plus their director and warden of the Big Sandy maximum security prison. In the suit, Kodak claims ever since he was transferred to Kentucky in October 2019, he’s been tortured and had his rights violated.
Now the rapper is trying to tap into Donald Trump for help. Reported on TMZ, Kodak’s lawyers, Bradford Cohen, and Jonathan Schwartz sent a petition to Trump. Kodak’s legal team is pushing for a Kodak to be in a level two security prison instead of the one he’s at which is a level four. Kodak’s lawyers also brought up their lawsuit and how their client is allegedly being treated unfairly, he was forced to urinate/defecate on himself and tortured.
The “Tunnel Vision” rapper’s lawyers pointed out that Kodak has donated over $100,000 in charities and all of the community work he’s done on his own over the years. It could be a long shot but, TMZ points out, one of Kodak’s lawyers, Bradford, has close ties with Trump. Bradford was on Trump’s reality show, The Apprentice, but got fired. Bradford also represented Trump’s former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, in his 2016 case, so Kodak could get lucky.
Kodak is serving time for unlawfully having firearms and marijuana. He was arrested last year when trying to cross the United States border to go to Canada. He also pled guilty to two counts of “knowingly making false and fictitious written statements in connection with the acquisition and attempted acquisition of firearms from a federally licensed firearms dealer, court documents report. Before the gun situation, the Florida rapper was indicted on sexual assault charges in South Carolina from an incident in 2016.
