2019 is a good year for Lena Waithe! Besides having her hit series, The Chi renewed for a second season last year, Waithe just sign a new first-look deal with Showtime.
As reported in Essence, she also has other projects in the works, including a film called Queen & Slim. The film gives a Bonnie and Clyde vibe and it is set to be directed by Melina Matsoukas. Black Panther star Daniel Kaluuya will also start in the show opposite of Waithe.
Waithe’s other series will be featured on BET, Amazon and HBO.
