On Thursday, California judge, Mark H. Epstein, ordered that Lizzo‘s sexual assault and harassment lawsuit be “stayed,” which is a court ruling to “stop or suspend a proceeding or trial temporarily or indefinitely.”
Last August, the singer/rapper was sued by three of her former backup dancers — Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez — who claimed that Lizzo (real name Melissa Jefferson) had created a “toxic work environment.” However, the “Special” singer is still challenging his earlier January ruling, where he denied her motion to dismiss the case.
So far, it hasn’t been determined how long the process will take. Nevertheless, since the lawsuit became public knowledge, it revealed several wild allegations, including a claim where one of the dancers said she was encouraged to engage in sexual acts with exotic performers while at a club located in Amsterdam’s infamous “Red Light District.”
