While many of the RihNavy waits for Rihanna’s brand new album, she continues to make power moves with her business ventures.
Today (May 10), LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton confirmed the news that the Fenty brand will be joining their family. According to the New York Times, the first products will be released in “a few weeks.” She becomes the first woman to create an original brand for the company, the first woman of color to be at the top of a new house, and the first new house created by the company since Christian Lacroix in 1987.
She now joins the ranks of Dior, Givenchy, Celine, and Fendi.
In a statement, Rihanna expressed her excitement.
“Designing a line like this with LVMH is an incredibly special moment for us,” she said. “Mr. Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits. I couldn’t imagine a better partner both creatively and business-wise, and I’m ready for the world to see what we have built together.”
