In another episode of the YSL trial…

Over the last few weeks, the case surrounding Young Thug’s RICO charges has been in the news for various reasons.

Yesterday (April 20), a defense attorney was arrested for carrying prescription drugs. A Fulton County deputy arrested Anastassios Manettas, an attorney representing one of the 13 defendants in the trial. Rolling Stone reports, “Manettas had been carrying prescription medicine and on Thursday, officers dragged him off at the security checkpoint.”

As a result, the sheriff’s office is formalizing charges. In addition, new protocols will be in place, Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat says, “Anything coming into this courtroom will be checked.” Manettas also assaulted an officer with a phone and will get charged with assault.

Earlier this week, chaos erupted after multiple people were heard screaming at each other inside the courtroom. They were handcuffed and removed from the courtroom. 11alive reports it’s unclear what caused the disturbance.

Last week, another defense attorney for the case used the slang, “cap,” while speaking to the judge. Today, (April 21), a photo went goes viral of Young Thug’s facial expression, and fans don’t know what to think.

Take a look:

One person commented, “He really trying to figure out what’s going on. The courtroom has been everything but the trial.” Someone else wrote, “his trial is a circus with drama.” Another person said, “he looks so stressed out. I’m sure the momentary shenanigans feel like a reprieve.”

56-count gang and racketeering indictment that also snared the rapper Sergio “Gunna” Kitchens and 26 other defendants. Williams is accused of engineering the murder of Donovan “Peanut” Thomas in a drive-by shooting in 2015, which precipitated months of near-continuous violence between the accused Young Slime Life street gang and its rivals, YFN.

Last year, Thug, Gunna, and dozens of YSL members were hit with a 56-count gang and racketeering indictment. RS also notes that Young Thug, “is accused of engineering the murder of Donovan ‘Peanut’ Thomas in a drive-by shooting in 2015, which precipitated months of near-continuous violence between the accused Young Slime Life street gang and its rivals, YFN.” Thug is accused of being the “ringleader” of a gang.

Gunna struck a plea deal and was released, along with a few other members. However, Thug remains behind bars, awaiting trial. It was set to begin in January but had a few delays.
