Tekashi 6ix9ine was in court today to face a judge after he was arrested early last week.

The rapper plead not guilty to racketeering and weapons charges earlier today.

Lisa Evers spoke with his attorney Lace Lazzaro exclusively after the hearing in which he claims that he was “targeted because of his hip hop fame.”

“I think its a far reaching indictment that Mr. Hernandez has very little involvement with other than basically using his social media to promote music,” he said. “As far as being a part of this Tr3yway blood gang, it is completely false. And I believe it will come out in court when the facts are brought out.”

He also claims that they did not meet alleged co-conspirators in the crime until his first video shoot until September 2017.

“Promoting your music on Instagram and social media does not make you part of a gang,” Lazzaro said. “He used the music and the gangster lyric to promote his song. That’s it. That’s his only involvement.”

The judge wants to schedule a seperate hearing to discuss his bail at a future date. His trial date is set for Sept. 4, 2019.
