Cardi B was offered an opportunity to perform at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show but ultimately turned it down in support of former NFL player, Colin Kaepernick.

As reported by HuffPost, the Grammy nominated rapper said that the had mixed feelings after she turned down the offer. She also stated that the decision was difficult because her husband and Atlanta native, Offset loves to watch football.

“My husband, he loves football. His kids play football. It’s really hard for him. He really wants to go to the Super Bowl, but he can’t go to the Super Bowl, because he’s got to stand for something.”  She continued, “You have to sacrifice that. I got to sacrifice a lot of money to perform, but there’s a man who sacrificed his job for us, so we got to stand behind him.”
