Tory Lanez legal team is fighting hard for their clients freedom.
The lawyer representing Tory, Jose Baez, said Tory will release information that could help his case. Jose announced on social media, “Today is National DNA Day. We are happy to announce that Tory Lanez will be releasing information about the DNA in his case that gave false and misleading information to his jury.”
Tory plans on releasing the information at some point today, April 25. Last week, the Canadian rapper spoke on the case. Tory said, “Until my court date, I’ll be posting the OUTRAGEOUS & DISGUSTING INJUSTICES used against me by the PROSECUTION to get the conviction they so DESPERATELY wanted, DESPITE the evidence they knew existed.”
In another letter to the LA District Attorney, Tory says that he was wrongfully convicted. He wrote:
“I write this message with the utmost humility, love, and respect for the remarkable stance you’ve taken in regards to fighting for the justice of Black and Brown minorities. Today I take a stance as an innocent Black Man, wrongfully convicted of a crime I DID not commit. I was completely robbed and deprived of a fair trial.”
Last year, Tory was found guilty of three charges, felony negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm. He was immediately taken to jail after to await sentencing for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
His legal team is currently appealing the case as Tory also awaits sentencing. Tory’s defense team said they plan to file a supplemental response to the motion, on May 1, which is causing the delay.
Tory faces a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in prison. He could also be deported to Canada following time served. The judge set a hearing for May 8.
