Vivica A. Fox gives fans an update on Regina King‘s wellbeing following the passing of her son, Ian.
During a recent episode of Cocktails with Queens, the actress revealed that she’d spent some time with King and said she’s “so strong.”
“I was with Regina last night. She’s okay. More than anything else is that I’m glad I got to hug her. I’m glad I got to look into her eyes.” She added that King wanted to give fans an update on how she’s doing. “She said to tell everybody that she’s gotten y’all texts. The outpouring of love for her, her family, and her son… she appreciates it.”
Regina confirmed the tragic news that her son, Ian, died after his 26th birthday. In a statement to People on Friday, King mentions, “our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian,” the statement read. “He is such a bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you.”
Reports confirm that Regina’s only son, Ian, died by suicide. May he rest peacefully.
