Tragic news..

As reported on news sources, a 16-year-old, Justin Johnson, rap name 23 Rackz, from D.C., was reportedly killed during a video shoot. His family says he was killed after posting his location on Instagram of where the video shoot would be located. Revolt reports Police are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the upcoming emcee’s killer.

Justin’s father, Michael Johnson, spoke out to a news station and said it was challenging keeping his son off the streets. He said, “I’d go to work, and he’d be gone when I come home. So we had a relationship of me trying to get him off the streets and him thinking, once he got money off his hands, he was gone.” He went on to talk about guns and said,

“And as far as guns on the street, he had been arrested one time for a gun, but D.C. won’t hold those kids. I begged the judges, P.O., keep him. Just keep him. But the next day, he was home. It’s so easy for these kids to get guns, it really is.”

Wale spoke out on the horrible passing and shared his condolences. The “50 In The Safe” rapper Tweeted, “I don’t even know what to say. I’m so sorry little brother.” In another post, Wale wrote, “It’s throwin me off . That boy was so young. So much in front of him.” He went on to Tweet about a memory he had of 23 Rackz. Wale continued,

“I remember just hangin all day when he came to L.A. He ended up bein the last voice u hear on this last album . I can’t believe this.”

Wale also said, “Heart just feel exhausted ..I don’t even know no more man. This shit hurt so bad.”

23 Rackz 2021 debut album is, Rookie of the Year. In April, he dropped two songs, “Dragging” and “Hook.”

The investigation is ongoing. Our hearts and prayers are with Justin’s family/fans.
