5 Things We Learned From Drake’s New Album ‘Scorpion’ [VIDEO]

Today (June 29), Drake released his brand new anticipated album he titled Scorpion.

This project is the first time we heard music since his tense battle against Pusha T began and upbruptly ended this past month.

There are two sides to the project, one that encompasses his rap side, and another that touches on his softer r&b persona. Drake gave us an inside look into his life and career in his project with several lines that has stood out in the hours following its release.

5 Things We Learned From Scorpion below.

It’s official, Drake is a father.

Remember when Pusha T dropped a bombshell on the hip hop world when he revealed that Drake had a secret baby? He not only confirmed, but he touched on the topic throughout the album.

In “Emotionless”: “I wasn’t hidin’ my kid from the world, I was hidin’ the world from my kid, From empty souls who just wake up and looked to debate, Until you starin’ at your seed, you can never relate.”

“Breakin’ news in my life, I don’t run to the blogs, The only ones I wanna tell are the ones I can call, They always ask, ‘Why let the story run if it’s false?’ You know a wise man once said nothin’ at all.”

In “March 14”: “She’s not my lover like Billie Jean but the kid is mine, Sandi [his mother] used to tell me all it takes is one time, and all it took was one time, S***, we only met two times, two times.”

“Now it’s rough times, I’m out here on front lines, Just tryin’ to make sure that I see him sometimes, It’s breakin’ my spirit, Single father, I hate when I hear it, I used to challenge my parents on every album, Now I’m embarrassed to tell them I ended up as a co-parent, Always promised the family unit/I wanted it to be different because I’ve been through it.”

“Fairy tales are saved for the bedtime stories I tell you now, I don’t want you worry about whose house you live at, Or who loves you more or who’s not there, Who did what to who ‘fore you got here.”

“October baby for irony sake, of course, I got this 11 tatted for somebody, now it’s yours , And believe me, I can’t wait to get a hunnid more,  Sorry I’m vintage, tryna cover ground, They said that in two weeks you’re supposed to come in town, Hopefully by the time you hear this me and your mother will have come around instead of always cutting each other down.”

It Looks Like He’s Off Of Young Money!

In “Is There More”: “Whenever it’s time to recoup, Yeah, soon as this album drop I’m out of the deal, In the house playin’ D’Angelo, “How Does It Feel?”, I got a fear of havin’ things on my mind when I die”

He Lowkey Addresses The Pusha T Beef

In “Survival”: “I’ve seen this movie a hundred times, I know where it’s headed, Realize someone gotta die when no one will dead it, N***** gambling with their life for some content, That’s the type of lottery that could get your top picked.”

In “Peak” “What you thought of me never had me missing a beat, That’s just a view from a cheap seat, They don’t want problems with me, Talk used to be cheap, nowadays it’s free, People are only as tough as they phones allow them to be.”

Drake Made Up w/ Jay-Z

There was a time three years ago when Drake and Jay-Z were not in the best of terms. Remember when Drizzy left Hova’s verse off “Pop Style?”

That is all done now, and big brother came to collaborate with Drizzy on a track no one expected.

In “Talk Up”: “I got your president tweeting, I won’t even meet with him, Y’all killed X and let Zimmerman live, Streets is done”

Drake Is NOT Very Happy w/ Kanye West

While making up with Jay-Z, the Toronto native doesn’t seem to be very excited to do the same with Kanye West.

In “8 out of 10”: “All sevens, no sixes…” “…“Rest easy get some shut eye, Hold on, hold on, But I miss making ‘em pay.”

This morning Ebro in the Morning broke down their first thoughts on the project.
