André 3000 said he received multiple offers to participate in events to celebrate Hip Hop’s 50th birthday but, he declined.

During a new interview with “CBS Mornings,” the Outkast member explained his decision on turning them all down. “I wouldn’t want to be — I’m doing it just because I’m trying to meet an expectation. I didn’t get into OutKast for that, you know,” he said. Check out the full conversation below.

As previously reported by HOT 97, last month, André 3000 released a new album, New Blue Sun. The project had a major plot twist — there were “no bars,” instead he played the flute.
