Reports suggest that ASAP Rocky‘s legal team is bracing for a speedy verdict in the celebrity’s case involving assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

TMZ video from Monday shows Joe Tacopina, Rocky’s lawyer. In the Los Angeles case, he discussed jury control. Tacopina admits “what a jury is thinking” is unpredictable. Yet, he remains confident in a swift, favorable result for Rocky. “I feel great,” Tacopina stated. “I mean, look, this case went perfectly for us. I’ve believed in Rocky’s innocence from day one. Rocky has maintained it. By virtue of the fact that he’s turned down a plea that would have been … like six months and he’s facing obviously a lot more than that, I think shows you his resolve and his belief in his innocence and belief in the jurors. This case, it should be a five-minute acquittal.”

According to Tacopina, jurors grasp the magnitude of the moment. He also countered the prosecution’s comments regarding Rihanna‘s presence in court. Tocpina noted, “She’s been there almost every day.” “She obviously loves him. They are a great couple. Obviously, I’ve known Rocky for a long time. I’ve known Rih for a long time. And seeing them together in a time like this, in a time of need, is something really special. She’s really there supporting him in full force. They’re a family, so why would that be odd or unique?”

Prosecution’s Rihanna Obsession vs. Defense’s “Gucci Not Guilty” Campaign

Expanding on his point, Tacopina claimed that the prosecution was “obsessed with Rihanna,” despite her absence from the discussions. “We have factual defenses,” Tacopina voiced. “They seem to be obsessed with Rihanna and her being there.”

Addressing his anticipation for a prompt verdict, Tacopina highlighted the significant influence of reasonable doubt, suggesting there are “about 100” instances of this in the case. He also disclosed his recent communications with Gucci regarding a campaign featuring Rocky for their Gucci Guilty fragrance. Tacopina humorously requested, “Can you change it to Gucci Not Guilty?”

Rocky faced arrest in April 2022, linked by LAPD officials to a Hollywood shooting from November 2021. Although the initial police statement did not name him, ASAP Relli was quickly identified as the supposed victim. The incident reportedly involved “an argument between two acquaintances,” with Rocky and Relli as the alleged parties involved, where gunfire ensued.
