Beyoncé paid homage to her southern roots, bringing the rodeo to the NFL and representing her hometown of Houston as they battled against the Baltimore Ravens. Beyoncé’s halftime performance, which fans dubbed “The Beyoncé Bowl,” scored an impressive 27 million viewers— making it the most-watched NFL Christmas game since 2001. Throughout her nearly 15-minute performance, the singer brought her Cowboy Carter album to life.

Performing tracks like “Texas Hold Em’,” “16 Carriages,” and “Blackbird,” which features several up-and-coming Black female country artists: Brittany Spencer, Reyna Roberts, Tanner Adell, Tiera Kennedy. Unsurprisingly, the singer also brought them out to perform by her side. “Tipsy” singer Shaboozey also made an appearance during the halftime show. However, one of the most touching moments happened when the singer’s eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, danced alongside her.

Beyoncé Crowned Billboard’s Greatest Pop Star Of The 21st Century

In other news, Billboard recently named Beyoncé the greatest pop star of the 21st century.

The outlet said the ranking was “based on her full 25 years of influence, evolution, and impact.” From her work with Destiny’s Child to her successful solo career, Beyoncé has more than proven herself. “The reasons why Beyoncé captured the top spot on our list were beyond numerous. Ranging from her 25 years of timeless albums and singles to her incalculable industry impact and influence on other artists, to her peerless raw talents as a singer and performer.’” Billboard said.

“Few artists this period can match her in any of the most critical basic categories of pop stardom. Commercial success, performance abilities, critical acclaim and accolades, industry influence, iconic cultural moments – and absolutely no one can equal her in all of them,” Billboard continued. In a recent Instagram post, the publication hailed the Renaissance singer as the quintessential innovator in music with her “one-of-a-kind style.”
