Bryson Tiller is not new to the music industry. Although he has been apart of it for almost ten years, he is considering a departure from his typical role as a singer and songwriter, signaling a potential shift in his career trajectory.
In a recent interview by Complex, Tiller surprised his fans by revealing his interest in diving into the world of gaming. Expressing his passion for video games, Tiller revealed that he plans to delve into game design after the release of his upcoming fourth album, slated to drop on Friday, April 5th.
“This is probably gonna be my last one for a minute,” Tiller mentioned about his upcoming album. “I just wanna take a hiatus ’cause my No. 1 passion is video games. I’ve been designing a game for the past three years,” he added, highlighting his dedication to this new pursuit.
Beyond his artistic talents, Bryson Tiller emphasized his desire to prioritize fatherhood and be more present for his children. Acknowledging the sacrifices he’s made due to his career demands. He expressed his intention to focus on strengthening his bond with his daughters.
“I want to focus on, No. 1 is getting closer to my daughters. My oldest daughter is 10 years old now. I’m tired of telling her I gotta work, or I gotta be in the studio, and then we can hang out.”
Reflecting on the appeal of video game design, Tiller highlighted its flexibility and compatibility with his family life. “The thing about game design is super cool ’cause I can do it from anywhere. I could be next to her while she’s gaming. It’s just what I love to do, and it doesn’t feel like work,” he explained.
Despite surprising some, Bryson Tiller remains dedicated to his artistic expression by pivoting towards video game design. He expressed his desire for his latest album to be a reflection of himself. “I really just want this album to be about myself more than anything, so I don’t want to bring too many people in,” he stated.
Bryson Tiller’s commendable pursuits, whether in gaming or fatherhood, add to his already accomplished journey.
