Cardi B recently responded to critics suggesting she’s leaning on brand endorsements following her new partnership with SHEIN.
On Tuesday (Dec. 3), the “Bodak Yellow” rapper shared a promotional video for the fast-fashion retailer’s holiday campaign, but the collaboration drew mixed reactions online. Later that evening, Cardi took to Twitter Spaces to address the chatter.
“People are saying I’m surviving off SHEIN deals and brand deals,” she said. “I want to let y’all know I could wake up tomorrow, sign a contract, and have half of $65 million—or half of $70 million—in my account.”
She revealed that she was offered a massive touring deal in September, sharing screenshots of the proposal. The offer included $1.1 million per show, $1.5 million for festival appearances, and a $65 million total if she met the required number of dates, though she redacted those details.
“This is my off year,” Cardi emphasized. “I’m not taking tour deals until I announce my album because once I do, I know those offers will go up. You have to move smart. You can’t act hungry when you’re not.”
Cardi’s live performances have been rare in recent years, with notable appearances including a surprise performance of “WAP” at Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hot Girl Summer Tour” at Madison Square Garden in May and a high-energy set at the 2024 BET Experience in June.
During her candid Twitter Spaces session, Cardi revealed she spends around $3 million a month, a figure that shocked some fans. However, it aligns with her stature as one of Hip-Hop’s most prominent stars.
Her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, broke records, and her ventures—including brand deals with NYX and her vodka-infused Whipshots—continue to bolster her income. She hinted at even bigger plans for 2025, teasing “secret businesses” she’s yet to unveil.
Cardi B also confirmed that her long-awaited sophomore album is slated for release next year, though she kept specifics under wraps.
“Next year, my album will be out, and my secret projects will be out. I can’t tell y’all what I’m working on yet,” she shared with fans in November.
With her strategic moves and undeniable star power, Cardi’s next chapter looks poised to dominate both the charts and the business world.
