Claressa Shields recently addressed her tensions with Remy Ma in a viral interview, clarifying that her frustrations have nothing to do with the rapper’s rumored romance with Papoose. Speaking with Jemele Hill, the world champion boxer opened up about the real issue driving their ongoing feud.
The conversation started when Hill asked about Shields’ viral $100,000 challenge to any woman who could beat her in a fight. Shields revealed that no one had accepted the challenge but added she’d gladly fight Remy Ma for far less. “At this point, the girl leaked my number,” Shields shared. “So at this point, you can give me a dollar, and I’ll put my hand over her.”
Shields explained that her anger stems solely from the breach of her privacy, not from any alleged romantic drama. “Why would you do that?” she asked, referring to Remy’s actions. “I mean, drama sells. I’m not in that beef. My smoke with her is posting my number.”
Shutting down speculation about jealousy over Papoose, Shields said, “People are like, ‘Oh, she wants to fight her over a dude, whatever.’ Stop it. That is so beneath me.”
Earlier this month, Shields challenged Remy Ma to a fight during their heated exchange on Instagram, even trading a few jabs online. However, her willingness to step into the ring with the rapper has drawn reactions from several celebrities. Among them was 50 Cent, who humorously warned Shields to avoid taking things further, given Remy Ma’s history. “Whatever you do, don’t fight her,” he wrote on social media. “She will get the blick, champ!”
Despite the drama, Shields made it clear her focus is on addressing the privacy breach, not fueling rumors of personal entanglements.
