Diddy issued an apology to Cassie, yet never addressed her by name.

We previously reported that Diddy shared a video via Instagram speaking his piece. The apology comes after resurfaced video shows him physically assaulting Cassie in 2016. “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you gotta do that,” he began. “I mean I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses.”

Diddy added, “My behavior on the video was inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.” He continues: “I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now. I went and sought professional help, had to go to therapy, rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry, I’m committed to being a better man each and every day, I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

Many fans questioned why throughout the whole apology, Diddy didn’t mention Cassie’s name. “The fact that you can’t even say Cassie’s name in this apology tells me everything I need to know” commented one fan.

According to TMZ, Diddy did not address Cassie by name because he legally couldn’t. When Diddy and Cassie settled the lawsuit, they both reportedly signed an NDA stating they can’t speak about each other publicly.

Back in November, Diddy and Cassie both “resolved the claims … to their mutual satisfaction” just one day after Cassie filed the lawsuit. In a statement Cassie expresses, “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control.  I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support,” Cassie wrote.

Diddy also expressed via his legal team, “we have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best.”
