The Swarm Princess bites back.
On Tuesday (Apri 9), platinum recording artist Doechii responds furiously to controversial star Azealia Banks’s “Wannabe” commentary with an Instagram comment.
Warning Banks to stir clear, Doechii wrote, “@azealiabanksforever the first time you came for me, I let it slide outta respect for my elders. It’s not my fault you sellin’ b*ssy soap and I’m sellin’ platinum records. Leave me alone PLEASE.”
Doechii’s remarks stem from Banks’s comment after the singer inquired about fan club names on Instagram, asking, “What should our fandom name be?”
Banks responded with, “Definitely should call them the wannabe’s.”
Doechii and Banks’ beef began weeks ago. The singer inquired about Banks collaborating on the remix to “Crazy.” Azealia Banks initially agreed, but for unknown reasons, the collaboration stalled. The Banks began constantly insulting Doechii.
Banks fired a shot at Doechii and her label TDE on X with, “TDE is going out f*cking sad,” she wrote on social media, before adding: “What the f*ck is even happening with TDE? You have this f*cking Doechii chick, who I have no f*cking clue who she is.”
