Drake, who shared the stage with Travis Scott during the fatal Astroworld concert, finds respite in the ongoing legal proceedings.

In a Houston courtroom on April 1, lawyers representing the 6 God contended that he played no role in organizing or carrying out the concert’s activities, absolving him of liability.

In a recent development, District Judge Kristen Hawkins has sided with Drake and subsequently dismissed him from the case, according to TMZ.

Meanwhile, Travis Scott’s request to be dismissed from the case was denied, and he will continue to be a defendant along with his Cactus Jack Enterprises group, LeFlame Enterprises, Front Gate Ticketing Solutions, Apex Security Group, Apple Inc., Sascha Stone Guttfreund, Valle Services, and Valle Security Texas, all of whom were involved in the festival’s planning.

On November 5, 2021, panic erupted at the concert as the over-capacity crowd surged toward the stage during Scott’s headline performance, resulting in thousands of injuries and the tragic deaths of ten individuals aged nine to 27 due to compressive asphyxiation.

Drake and Scott, both deeply affected by the tragedy, withdrew from future performances, reimbursed ticket costs, and committed to covering memorial and therapy expenses for the victims.

“I‘ve spent the past few days trying to wrap my mind around this devastating tragedy,” Drake began on social media, “I hate resorting to this platform to express an emotion as delicate as grief but this is where I find myself.”

He continued, “My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and for anyone who is suffering. I will continue to pray for all of them, and will be of service in any way I can. May God be with you all.”

Taking to X/Twitter with a statement of his own, Travis Scott wrote: “I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night. My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival. Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life.”

“I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need. Thank you to Houston PD, Fire Department, and NRG Park for their immediate response and support. Love you all,” he concluded.
