It was recently reported that Tennessee governor Bill Haslam granted clemency to Cyntoia Brown. She was serving a life sentence for killing a man, who allegedly sex-trafficked her.
Well, after being granted clemency she is set to be released from for prison, in August 2019, and will serve 10 years on parole.
Many celebrities have used their voice and platform to speak out for Brown, including Kim Kardashian and more.
Most recently, rapper Drake took to his Instagram to express his excitement for Brown’s good news. He stated he was “so happy” as he recalls calling “everyone” trying to see if their was anything he can do to help the situation.
