Dave Chappelle is gearing up to host Saturday Night Live for the fourth time this weekend, January 18th, alongside GloRilla, who’s making her debut as SNL’s musical guest.
In a promo shared on Thursday, January 16th, cast member Marcello Hernández kicks things off with a humorous moment. “Man, what a chaotic time in the world. I’m so glad that you’re here to bring us together and remind us of what makes us human,” he says. As Chappelle begins to thank him, Hernández quickly adds, “I was actually talking to GloRilla.” Glo, visibly flattered, replies with a playful, “Thanks, BB!”
The promo continues with more laughs as Hernández praises GloRilla’s 2024 hit, “Yeah, Glo!” He explains, “If it was in Spanish, it would be like ‘Si, Glo!’” Amused, Glo encourages him to keep going, asking if he’ll translate the song’s explicit hook. “I don’t know, I gotta translate,” Hernández responds, laughing at the challenge.
This SNL performance marks a significant moment for GloRilla, arriving three months after the release of her debut solo album, Glorious. The project has already made waves, peaking at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. Its standout single, “TGIF,” climbed to No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100, earning GloRilla her highest-charting solo entry to date.
Catch all the excitement when the episode airs on January 18th at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC, with streaming available on Peacock.
