2024 has been very good for GloRilla. The Memphis native’s new album, Glorious, has sold over 500,000 units, making it gold-eligible. Since her debut in 2022 with “F.N.F,” GloRilla’s star only continues to rise. She’s already earned several gold and platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In 2023, she earned two platinum certifications for “F.N.F.” and “Tomorrow 2.” Earlier this year, she earned another one for “Yeah Glo!”

“WHATCHU KNO BOUT ME (FT. SEXYY RED),” which appears on Glorious, has already achieved gold status. She earned another gold plaque in 2023 for “Blessed featuring Yo Gotti. Also, her collaboration with Big Boogie and DJ Drama, “Bop,” reached gold in October.

GloRilla Donates $25k To High School Alma Mater

When Big Glo isn’t making hits and topping the charts, she’s finding new ways to give back to her fellow Memphis natives. A few weeks back, GloRilla made a significant donation to her former high school alma mater, Melrose High School. The funds —totaling around $25,000—will go toward creating a new library and media center. The new center has been named in the rapper’s honor and aptly titled The Gloria H. Woods Media Center. The media center will help “incorporate advanced technology, adaptable seating, and an interactive learning setup designed to strengthen literacy and support the wider Orange Mound community.”

The revamped library is expected to be finished by summer’s end. Not long after the news broke, the rapper released a statement in which she expressed gratitude for being able to assist her alma mater. GloRilla said in a news statement, “It feels great. I feel blessed that I’m able to even do that, you know?” She continued, “I always wished somebody could do that when I was going to school, and so the fact that I have the ability to do it now just warms my heart.”
