According to reports, GloRilla is making a significant impact this holiday season by giving back to her hometown.

The Memphis star, who graduated from Melrose High School in 2017, stunned students on Wednesday by giving $25,000 to create a new library space named The Gloria H. Woods Media Center in honor of her real name. This space will incorporate advanced technology, adaptable seating, and an interactive learning setup designed to strengthen literacy and support the wider Orange Mound community.

GloRilla said in a news statement, “It feels great. I feel blessed that I’m able to even do that, you know?” She continued, “I always wished somebody could do that when I was going to school and so the fact that I have the ability to do it now, it just—it warms my heart.”

The revamped library is slated to be finished by summer’s end.
