Here’s Everything You Missed During WWE’s ‘Super SmackDown Live’ At Madison Square Garden

It has been at least two years since WWE’s Smackdown Live was featured at Madison Square Garden and last night it came back and with a bang. 

WWE presented Smackdown Live as “Super Smackdown” and the show was action-packed. Here’s everything that you missed out on. 

The Return of Brock Lesnar

Last night, Thee Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar made his return to SmackDown to challenge the current Universal Champion, The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. Lesnar also exposed his former manager, Paul Heyman, by asking “Why didn’t you tell Roman that I was going to be at Summerslam?” 

 

Becky Lynch Accepts Bianca Belair’s Challenge: 

After her epic return and shocking win at Summerslam over Bianca Belair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship, Becky Lynch has been avoiding giving Belair her title rematch. During last night’s show, the EST finally got her rematch with the New York crowd standing behind her. Lynch signed the contract to meet Belair at Extreme Rules for the championship. 

WWE Hall of Famer Edge Injured During Rematch With Seth Rollins

During their rematch, Edge and Seth Rollins were going toe to toe to prove who is the better man. Towards the end of their match, Rollins would hit Edge with a few superkicks before hitting his finishing move, the curb stomp, and getting the win. After the match, paramedics were called to the ring to carry Edge out on a stretcher. 

Atlanta Hawks Trae Young Makes A Special Appearance

Before the 10-man tag match started at the beginning of the night, wrestler Sami Zayn introduced Trae Young to stand ringside during the match. Young was welcomed with a lot of boos from the New York crowd. Young also inserted himself into the match.

Lillian Garcia Opens The Show With ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’

20-years ago to the today of the 9/11 attacks, Lillian Garcia opened the show by performing the National Anthem and giving fans the reassurance that they are stronger together. 

The Return of Demon Finn Balor

Last night, Roman Reigns finally accepted Brock Lesnar’s challenge for a shot at the Universal Championship, stating that he will smash Lesnar right after he takes care of Finn. However, the person that Reigns will face is the Demon Finn and he made a return to put the champion on notice.
