Get ready to immerse yourself in the bling culture of hip-hop icons like Nicki Minaj, Tyler the Creator, Erykah Badu, and A$AP Rocky as their iconic gold chains and gem-studded jewelry take center stage in a museum showcase in New York.

At the heart of this exhibit in New York’s natural history museum are must-sees like Slick Rick’s dazzling crown, the Notorious B.I.G.‘s legendary gold “Jesus piece,” and Nicki Minaj’s sparkling “Barbie” pendant.

The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH), usually known for its dinosaur bones and wildlife exhibits, is gearing up to unveil “Ice Cold: An Exhibition of Hip-Hop Jewelry” starting May 9.

According to guest curator Vikki Tobak, “Jewelry is a huge part of hip-hop culture. It’s like watching the story of hip-hop unfold through its bling, from its roots in communities to its global influence on pop culture.”

Hip-hop, born in the Bronx before becoming a global phenomenon, celebrated its 50th anniversary last year.

The sprawling natural history museum in Manhattan, nestled next to Central Park, has been educating visitors for about 150 years with exhibits on science, ranging from animals and plants to climate change and space.

Famous for its dinosaur skeletons and lifelike animal displays, the museum gained worldwide recognition, especially after the blockbuster film “Night at the Museum.”

The AMNH, a top attraction in New York, has drawn millions of visitors annually, necessitating expansions over the years.

The hip-hop jewelry exhibition is housed in the Melissa and Keith Meister Gallery within the new Allison and Roberto Mignone Halls of Gems and Minerals. Admission, ranging from $16 to $28, grants access to this captivating showcase.
