Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s divorce continues to take a bitter turn, with new accusations coming to light. This time, Shumpert is pushing for Taylor to be jailed, claiming she has broken court orders in their ongoing battle.
According to AllHipHop, the former NBA star submitted a motion on May 5th asking a Georgia judge to hold Taylor in contempt. He wants her to face up to 20 days in jail. Documents obtained by In Touch Weekly allege that Taylor not only shared private details of their split with the media but also verbally insulted Shumpert in front of their children. “In the presence of the children, [Taylor] has shouted crude and inflammatory racial insults at [Shumpert],” the documents say. “Such insults and criticism of [Shumpert] have caused the children to unjustly suffer stress and worry.” Shumpert claims the situation has placed the kids in an unfair emotional position, feeling responsible for managing their parents’ conflict.
He also accuses Taylor of trying to damage his bond with their children, which would go against their custody arrangement. These new claims mirror what Taylor previously said about Shumpert earlier this year. In March, she accused him of similar behavior but firmly denied ever trying to have him jailed. “I have to file a motion to get him to leave me alone so we can both go and live our life in peace,” she said.
Shumpert responded to the ongoing drama by acknowledging the emotional toll. “Some of the filings after, it’s hurtful to see,” he admitted. Despite that, he understands that once things are made public, they invite attention.
While the former couple remains locked in a legal struggle, both are still pursuing successful careers. Taylor is focused on upcoming creative work, and Shumpert continues to grow his wealth, currently estimated at $16 million.
