Issa Rae will receive the Pandora Leader of the Change Award at the Fashion Awards 2024 (TFA) from The British Fashion Council (BFC). The event will take place on Monday 2nd December at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Presented by Pandora, the Fashion Awards “celebrates the role of fashion at the intersection of culture and entertainment, spotlighting creative talent and telling the stories of the year in fashion.”
Yvonne Orji, who co-starred as Rae’s best friend on “Insecure”, will present the award.
The Pandora Leader of Change Award “celebrates a person who leads with innovation to create positive change globally. They consistently challenge the status quo.” Their work is empowering, progressive, and forward-thinking.
Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council released the statement about Rae’s selection.
“We are thrilled to honor Issa Rae with the Pandora Leader of Change Award at The Fashion Awards 2024. Rae’s work has inspired and resonated with people all over the globe. She is a fierce advocate for civil and women’s rights movements, always championing equality and social justice in her acting and writing, Rush said.
“She consistently uses her platform to spotlight the lack of diversity in Hollywood and call for more representation in the industry, including seeing people of color behind the scenes. Issa truly embodies the principles of this Award and we are so excited to celebrate her in December,” Rush continued.

Rae is a mover and shaker as a filmmaker and actress. Her film credits include Barbie, which was the biggest box-office hit of 2023; Spider-man: Across The Spider-Verse, and more.
She also produced “Insecure,” “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” and “Rap Sh!t” under her Hoorae Media imprint.
