LOX member Jadakiss has entered a new industry with the launch of his coffee brand alongside father Bob Phillips and son Jaewon Phillips. According to a press release, Kiss Café is three generations of legacy, loyalty, and the love of coffee.
On Tuesday (Oct. 18), Jadakiss, whose real name is Jason Phillips, shared the news on his Instagram account. “@kisscafecoffee’s first official blend BEIJO is now available only at kisscafecoffee.com. Over 40 years in, 3 generations deep, grounded in tradition, I am joined by my father and son @reallyjaewon, to officially launch our Phillips family coffee company. Follow us on IG @kisscafecoffee and get your fix today #ForTheLoveOfCoffee,” the caption reads.
Bob has been involved in the coffee industry since 1977. He has served as the president and CEO of Caturra Corp., a boutique importing and trading firm that specializes in international green coffees, since 1998. “This is one of my proudest professional and personal achievements,” Bob said. “There is no greater honor than taking what you’ve learned in this life and inspiring your family to join you and bring that pursuit to the next level.”
Jaewon, 24, joined the coffee industry in 2018. “Kiss Café is authentic,” he added. “It’s real. No gimmicks. It’s been in our family for well over 40 years and everything we do here is from the core.”
The first official blend, which was launched yesterday (Oct. 18), is the Beijo roast, which translates to kiss in Portuguese. The medium-dark Arabica blend is sourced from Central America. It is available in whole bean or ground options exclusively on the company’s website. Prices start at $14.99.
Apparently the coffee brand is set to announce its first experiential and retail partners in the next few months. “This coffee is for all coffee lovers. No specific age or background or knowledge. Coffee is a universal and a personal thing,” said the New York rapper. “Everyone enjoys it differently. And we’re here to help them do that.”
