The woman who previously accused JAY-Z of rape has now moved to have his defamation suit dismissed, a case that has fueled intense controversy. She had initially accused both JAY-Z and Diddy of assault but later retracted, citing doubts about her allegations. JAY-Z, however, has filed a counter-suit for defamation, claiming irreparable harm to his reputation.
The accuser is now attempting to dismiss the defamation suit, claiming that the court proceedings legally shielded her comments. She further claims her NBC interview relied entirely on details found in official filings. As of now, JAY-Z’s legal representatives have not publicly commented on this latest motion.
Buzbee Alleges Broken Deal, Spiro Denies Agreement in JAY-Z Legal Fight
Buzbee previously submitted a motion to dismiss in the ongoing legal saga, claiming that the parties involved reached a mutual agreement. According to Buzbee, this understanding included the voluntary dismissal of the case filed in the Southern District of New York (SDNY). The motion indicated, “The pressure exerted by Mr. Carter and his associates on Doe became overwhelming. An agreement was arrived at on February 4, 2025, which involved the cessation of the litigation and the dismissal of the SDNY Action.”
However, JAY-Z’s attorney, Spiro, has disputed this assertion, labeling it a “total lie” and claiming that the woman’s initial case was flawed from the outset. In a rebuttal, Buzbee’s legal counsel countered Spiro’s claims, stating, “Spiro’s assertion of no agreement is a fabrication. Communication between myself and Spiro clearly outlined the terms of the agreement. This included Spiro’s commitment to withdraw motions for sanctions against Mr. Buzbee’s law firm.”
Buzbee’s attorney emphasized that despite the woman’s insistence on the truth of her allegations, an agreement was made to withdraw her lawsuit against JAY-Z and Diddy. However, he accused JAY-Z and his legal team of violating the terms of this agreement shortly after it was established, alleging that investigators were sent to intimidate the woman and her family.
