Kendrick Lamar appears to be staying in peak form, even amid his recent surge of success.

A widely shared clip from Monday (March 10) captures the Compton rapper tackling a calisthenics routine at a public park in California. The clip captures Kendrick executing a series of pull-ups, knees bent to intensify the challenge, all while dressed in a hoodie under the sun’s heat. Despite a lively outdoor gym, those nearby appeared oblivious to the Grammy-winning rapper, who had just commanded a Super Bowl audience of over 133 million.

Kendrick Lamar’s Fitness Rituals, From Running to Pull-Ups

Kendrick Lamar, who has prioritized fitness in recent years, recently shared details of his workout regimen in a rare Harper’s Bazaar interview.

“My early-morning practice is that I have to run. When I started running, that’s where I started to understand. There was this threshold of pain in the spirituality for me,” he stated. “I remember my shins was aching and I was like, I got one mile to go. Then I get whispers and downloads and start talking about shit that I want to know about. And next thing I’m three miles in, four miles in. I wake up and do that shit every day.” During a 2022 visit to New York, the 37-year-old was seen effortlessly doing pull-ups.

Joined by Harlem’s own A$AP Ferg and Dapper Dan, along with pgLang’s Dave Free and Teanna Leone, Kendrick Lamar found himself in a friendly pull-up contest with Ferg’s uncle, T-Nyce, using a scaffold bar as an improvised gym. Despite T-Nyce’s larger frame, K.Dot handled the challenge with ease, barely showing any strain. He even added a few hanging leg raises, making a quiet show of his upper-body control.

The GNX MC offered a rare glimpse into his training regimen last year, sharing a burner Instagram post of himself squeezing in a workout at a Los Angeles park. Wearing a black baseball cap and sweats, Kendrick powered through pull-ups and push-ups while nodding to Con Funk Shun’s “Straight From the Heart.” On his Baby Keem collab “The Hillbillies,” he even boasted about consuming 150 grams of protein daily—more than enough to pack on muscle.
