According to reports, Kodak Black has addressed recent faith rumors, denying claims of converting to Islam and reaffirming his identity as a Hebrew Israelite.
The speculation began circulating after images of him on a prayer rug inside a mosque gained traction online. Kodak explained the photos were staged by celebrity dentist “Bollywood” Saif Shere. The “Tunnel Vision” rapper shared online, “No disrespect to the Muslim community but Iam [sic] Hebrew Israelite.” “I feel very disrespected by the blog and [Shere] for allowing them to run with a narrative that I’ve converted to Islam!! Simply him asking me personally to take a picture on his prayer rug.” Hebrew Israelites claim African Americans trace roots to Israelites.
In a video statement, Kodak addressed and expanded his denial. He voiced, “I always say I like the literature, but I ain’t no fucking Muslim.” “Other n-ggas do that, turn Muslim out of nowhere. No disrespect to Muslims, no disrespect to any religion… I can’t tell you you’re wrong for being Christian. I can’t tell you you’re wrong for being Muslim. You can’t tell me I’m wrong for being Hebrew Israelite.” He continued, “I don’t understand why that post go viral. All y’all saw was a picture of me prostrating.”
Kodak Black Brushes Off Backlash, Predicts Similar Hate to Drake’s Dispute
Kodak appeared unshaken by the rumors, having foreseen Hip Hop’s potential backlash, similar to what Drake experienced during his Kendrick Lamar dispute.
This week, he confronted his detractors on Instagram Live. He stated, “One day these n-ggas gon’ try to do me like Drake.” “Like they did Drake. Whole little hate Kodak campaign. Everybody who hate Kodak to the left. You see these n-ggas campaigning and shit.” However, he appears unfazed, saying, “But it’s love. They show like, I’m impressive. I’m a great friend to have and I ain’t friendly.”
