Cardi B erupted online after reality star Hazel E shared alleged direct messages from the rapper, igniting fresh drama between the two.
According to AllHipHop, the screenshots appeared May 15, days after Hazel implied in an interview that Cardi B used sex to boost her music career.
Cardi appeared to catch wind of Hazel E’s comments on an episode of Shirley’s Temple on TikTok. Talking to Shirley Ju, Hazel E shared her thoughts on Cardi B’s career. Hazel E stated that roadblocks in her career stemmed from her unwillingness to “play these games” like other female artists, citing Cardi B as an example.
“When you don’t want to play these games,” Hazel tells Shirley. “Then, you get overlooked. Even the girls that play these games. You know… I’m just going to say Cardi because that’s just… I’m say she played them games. She did all that, right? And she got on, fuck him, I’m going to get some… Like, she was the rap whatever. And now she has three kids and her husband, and now she’s like, ‘I don’t even want to be that no more.’ And guess what, now, she’s not making music. Now, she not, whatever, because she like not in that era. And it’s just, it sucks for women that if you don’t want to be over-sexualized or taken advantage of or having to feel that you have to like f*ck for a track. Whatever you want to say, then you’re not getting no airplay or you gotta go sell your soul, and, you know, go do the dinner with Rick Owens and his wife, and the thing over there.”
Cardi allegedly fired back with a blunt warning: “Keep my name out your f****** mouth.” In the message, she denied ever speaking about Hazel and slammed claims she slept her way to success. “Name one rapper or exec I f***** to get where I’m at,” she wrote. “The only man I’ve been with in this industry, I married.”
She went on to call Hazel “a weirdo” and “a miserable ass b****,” responding to past claims that she copied Hazel’s child’s birthday party idea. “You’re evil and weird,” Cardi added. “You hate on people you’ve never met. I can only imagine how you treat the ones close to you.”
The feud resurfaced after Hazel, a former Love & Hip-Hop cast member, reignited long-held animosity toward Cardi. In the interview, she questioned whether Cardi’s fame was earned by talent alone. She later posted more alleged messages from Cardi, showing a heated exchange.
Cardi B also reportedly defended her ex-husband Offset and current boyfriend Stefon Diggs after Hazel accused her of being “the downfall of yet another man.” The jab seemed to reference unproven rumors about Diggs using pink cocaine during a yacht party with Cardi present—an allegation with no supporting evidence.
Hazel’s claims have persisted for years, though Cardi rarely responded. Past accusations include stealing birthday party themes and even taking credit for the “Bodak Yellow” video. This time, Cardi decided to confront the gossip head-on.
Their back-and-forth reflects deeper resentment. While Hazel keeps pushing narratives, Cardi’s sharp response signals she’s had enough. The tension, rooted in old grudges and new accusations, once again plays out under the unforgiving glare of social media.
