Lil Baby has plenty to celebrate as he kicks off the year. His new album, WHAM, is already making waves, while his 2020 project, My Turn, has earned a monumental accolade. Billboard recently named My Turn the most successful rap album of the century based on its performance on the Billboard 200 chart.

On January 9, Billboard unveiled its Top Billboard 200 Albums of the 21st Century list, ranking albums by their chart performance from January 1, 2000, to December 28, 2024. My Turn secured the eighth spot overall, trailing only records by Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift, Adele (21), the Hamilton cast recording, and Post Malone (Hollywood’s Bleeding).

Lil Baby’s newest release, WHAM, is already primed for success. Chart analysts predict it will debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with estimated first-week sales of 115,000 to 125,000 album-equivalent units.

The 15-track project, which dropped on January 3, features high-profile collaborations with Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, GloRilla, Rod Wave, Rylo, and 21 Savage. If the projection holds, this will mark Lil Baby’s fourth consecutive No. 1 album, following My Turn, 2021’s The Voice of the Heroes (with Lil Durk), and 2022’s It’s Only Me.

The Atlanta rapper isn’t stopping there. During a recent appearance on Lil Yachty’s A Safe Place podcast, Lil Baby revealed plans to release two more albums in 2025. In addition to WHAM, he’s preparing to drop Dominique, an album named after his real name, which he hopes to release in February.

Explaining the difference between the two projects, Lil Baby said, “WHAM is me living that fast life—cars, money, jewelry, and the turnt lifestyle my fans know and love. But Dominique is more personal, showing the serious side of me. It’s a new journey where I’m opening up to my audience. I don’t like the word ‘vulnerable,’ but that’s my direction.”

As Lil Baby continues to evolve as an artist, his ability to balance high-energy hits with introspective storytelling ensures his place at the forefront of hip-hop.
