Will Megan Thee Stallion finally be released from 1501 Certified Entertainment?

In the latest update, the Houston, Texas hot girl is demanding a minimum of $1 million from independent label owner/former professional basketball player Carl Crawford’s 1501 Certified Entertainment and officially being off the label. Rolling Stone points out that the $1 million is the first time Megan and her legal team made a monetary request, the initial lawsuit filed in February only asked for non-monetary relief.

The Jasmine Brand reports that since 2020, the hotties witnessed firsthand all of the drama between Megan and Carl. The “Savage” rapper has been vocal about wanting to get out of her contract with 1501, but she legally had to fulfill the contract and dish out more albums.

Megan released Something For The Hotties in 2021 and recently dropped Tramauzine. According to the report, Megan and her attorneys argue she satisfied the requirements of the contract she signed in 2018. Her attorney reportedly said, “both constitute an ‘album’ as defined in the parties’ recording agreement.”

However, Steven Zager, 1501’s attorney, hasn’t decided if they will challenge Traumazine as a full album under her contract, the report says. “We want to really analyze the new album. We don’t want to be unreasonable. I think she did that for the impact. I think at the end of the day, Megan owes 1501 lot more money that she claims 1501 owes her,” Steven said.

People reports, an attorney for 1501 also said, “We’ve tried to work with Megan, and we want Megan to be successful.” The outlet also reports the complaint reads:

“Over the past two (2) years, Pete and 1501 shared a long and tortured history of disputes with each other concerning Pete’s recording agreement, including the unconscionability of the agreement in its original form, as well as disputes concerning the release of Pete’s music.” It continues,

“The two have been able to resolve some of the disputes through the issuance of multiple temporary restraining orders against Defendants from this Court. But a new dispute has arisen requiring further assistance from the Court.”
