Da Brat defends Jermaine Dupri’s comments about today’s female rapper, calling him a “genius.”
Music mogul, JD, sat down for an interview and was asked his favorite female rapper. He answered, “I don’t think they’re showing us who’s the best rapper,” Dupri responded. “For me, it’s like strippers rapping.”
Sending social media in a frenzy. Da Brat responded to his comments, “everything Jermaine Dupri does is done strategically,” she told TMZ. “He knows what he’s doing; he’s a genius. You should be thankful that the conversation is even started now…‘cause now the focus is absolutely on [female rappers].”
When Da Brat was asked about JD’s “stripper rapper” comments, she says “That’s not what he said,” mentioning that his comments were taken out of context. She also states she “loves” JD, and “he’s very smart at what he does and there’s always a method to his madness.”
