Officer Daniel Pantaleo has officially been suspended from the NYPD. Pantaleo is responsible for the murder of Eric Garner, as he held him in an illegal chokehold after the victim screamed that he could not breathe.
NYPD Commissioner James O’Neil will make the ultimate decision on whether or not Pantaleo will be terminated.
Last month the Department of Justice announced that Pantaleo would not face Federal charges as there was an ‘insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt.’
