Pam Grier shares the motivation behind learning pole dancing, aiming for collaboration with Cardi B on the big screen.
In a recent segment on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the Foxy Brown actress divulged that while she’s currently working on a biopic series, she’s already setting her sights on her next endeavor – and it involves none other than the incomparable Bardi.
“As soon as I finish that, I really wanted to work with her. And it could be in maybe two years at the theater ‘cause I’m now learning how to pole dance. And it’s taking a minute, but it’s a lot of fun. But it’s a wonderful story. I don’t want to give it away, but it’s perfect for her because she’s a great mom,” said Grier.
According to Rolling Stone, Pam Grier spilled the beans in 2022 about a top-secret project she’s been cooking up with Cardi B in mind. The actress/singer initially remained tight-lipped about the movie’s specifics but couldn’t resist dropping hints during her recent appearance adding,”I’m the pole dancer and she teaches me.”
Though Grier has over five dozen titles under her belt, the “Love and Hip Hop: New York,” breakout star is still fairly new to the acting scene. She first made a splash in the Jennifer Lopez-led Hustlers (2019).
Inspired by a viral New York Magazine piece, the blockbuster tracks a group of cunning ex-strip club workers as they unite to outsmart their Wall Street clientele. She later appeared in the top-grossing Fast and Furious franchise films, including F9: The Fast Saga (2021) and Fast X (2023).
