The elusive Atlanta artist teased the project on his finsta account @opium_00pium, sharing a carousel of photos captioned: “@spotify What we doin Lets gone clear dese ho ahh nig out.” The streaming platform replied on X, tagging the rapper alongside a string of hourglass emojis.

Carti followed up by sharing a screenshot on his IG Story, captioning it, “Yal boys push up my n—a.” After a fan chimed in with, “bro we get it u trim just drop the album already,” Carti simply co-signed, responding, “Fasho.” He followed up with another X screenshot of a fan calling the album “the most anticipated in the history of music,” hinting the wait would be justified, adding, “[And] the replay [value] on 10.” Carti’s I Am Music is available for $9.99 on his website, where a disclaimer under the “Add to Cart” button signals a planned release this month. The site reads, “Album release date to be announced,” with the digital copy expected around the launch window, but no later than six months from September 12, 2024.
If Playboi Carti’s album arrives on time, Kai Cenat might deserve some credit. The popular streamer urged Carti to drop the project during a red carpet interview at the Grammys, naming it as 2025’s most anticipated missing release when asked by Access Hollywood. “He needs to drop, for real. Carti gotta drop. I know Carti gon’ see this. Carti, just drop! I’m on national TV. Drop, gang! You feel what I’m saying? So yeah, that’s what we missing. In my world, a lot of people need that, so we need to make sure that happens,” he stated. Carti reposted the clip on his Instagram Story, praising it as “Realest video I seen in 2025… BX yal got 1 with Kai. Dis video might be da one to do it.”
