Whoa!

R&B singer Jaheim is facing some serious charges.

As reported on sources, he was arrested for animal cruelty. The Jasmine Brand says the “Put That Woman First” singer received a visit from New Jersey police, and they found something unusual in his home. They were reportedly responding to a “puppy in distress” call, it’s not clear who made the call.

It was discovered that dogs that were being cared for by Jaheim weren’t being taken care of properly. When authorizes arrived, they saw six dogs in his driveway. One of the dogs, a mixed pit Bull terrier, was found unresponsive within a water-filled crate. Later on, the dog had to be euthanized.

Police found more dogs in his home in crates filled with water and feces. After they arrested Jaheim, they found even more dogs in very poor condition, in various stages of emaciation. Two dogs had to be taken to an emergency veterinary clinic. The dogs reportedly had no access to food or water.

A total of 15 dogs were found. TJB reports, “twelve of the animals, including the euthanized one, were mixed-breed pit bull terriers. Two of the other dogs were American Staffordshire terriers, and the remaining one was a mixed-breed Boxer.” 14 of the dogs were taken to Long Hill Kennel in Hillsborough, New Jersey.

Jaheim hasn’t publicly spoken on the situation as of yet. He’s charged with third-degree animal cruelty. He’s awaiting a court hearing and was booked into Somerset County Jail.
