Serena Williams is once again facing unfair scrutiny online — and this time, her husband isn’t letting it slide.
After the tennis legend shared family photos from a recent wedding celebration, a social media user accused Serena of bleaching her skin, claiming she appeared lighter in the images. The comment quickly sparked backlash from fans.
Stepping in to defend his wife, Alexis Ohanian fired back at the accusation. Ohanian shut down the claim, reminding critics that lighting and camera exposure can dramatically affect skin tone in photos. He also made it clear that the accusation was not only incorrect but rooted in ignorance.
Many fans praised Ohanian for standing up for Serena and calling out the baseless commentary. Supporters echoed his sentiments, emphasizing that Black women are often subjected to unnecessary and harmful speculation about their appearance.
This isn’t the first time Serena Williams has dealt with similar rumors. In the past, she has addressed the topic directly, stating that she does not bleach her skin and that she fully embraces who she is. Serena has also spoken openly about how lighting, makeup, and filters can change how people look in photos — especially under professional or event lighting.
