Snoop Dogg’s highly anticipated new album titled “Missionary” will be produced by Dr. Dre and there are already talks of a tour in support of the LP.

In an interview with Forbes, Uncle Snoop spoke about being excited about getting back to his first love of making music after fulfilling his various other obligations in the industry.

“Music is my foundation. That’s the root of who I am, so I can never run away from that,” Snoop said.

The Hip-Hop legend went on to say that  “talk of a tour as early as next year,” has already been discussed with Dre.

Seeking to reclaim the legacy of Death Row that he and Dre helped build, Snoop made a major move by acquiring Death Row in 2022 from MNRK Music Group, giving the Doggfather ownership of the label’s classic catalog of music including Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle, 2Pac’s All Eyez On Me, and Tha Dogg Pound’s Dogg Food.  Also, the label launched a partnership between Reservoir Media and Death Row’s publishing division securing the rights to several hits such as  “Hail Mary” by Makaveli, “I Ain’t Mad At Cha” by 2Pac, and “Picture Me Rollin” by 2Pac.

All of Snoop’s transactions as a businessman has set the stage for a reunion album with Dr. Dre.

Snoop Dogg Talks ‘Missionary’ project

During an appearance on Stephen A. Smith’s Know Mercy podcast in 2022, Snoop first announced that he and Dre were at work on the Missionary project.

“You’re the first one to hear this: me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months,” Snoop told the sports personality. “It’s produced by Dr. Dre, it’s our 30th anniversary to Doggystyle. And the name of the album is Missionary.”

Although no official release date has been announced for Missionary, Dre said the goal is to drop the album in November which would be the anniversary of Doggystyle, their last album together.

“As soon as we finish this I have to go downstairs and start mixing. I wanted 14 songs, Snoop wants 16, so we have that thing happening [bumps his fists together],” Dre told Entertainment Tonight . “I’m on song number 11 as far as the mixes go. I have to be done and delivered by September 1st to have a November release.”
