Tainy has undoubtedly become one of the hottest artists/producers to come out of Puerto Rico. He is known for shaping the sounds of reggaeton and for venturing out into other genres. Following a record-breaking year, the artist and producer continue his reign with his latest singles and a Producer of The Year win at the Latin Billboards.
When you turn on the radio, you can be certain that you will hear a Tainy-produced record. He has worked with a plethora of artists including, J. Balvin, Bad Bunny, Cardi B, Justin Bieber, and the list goes on.
Tainy has recently released a project called “Falta” featuring DaniLeigh and Kris Floyd—a melodic single inspired by Tainy’s desire to merge R&B with reggaeton. He opened up about this project and how it came together.
“Falta was a cool song to create. I met DaniLeigh in Los Angeles, and we started talking about going into the studio to create music. She let us know that she was going to be in Miami for a couple of days,” he said.
“When it came to Kris Floyd, Urbano’s next up-and-coming rapper, songwriter and performer and part of the NEON16 label, I knew he had to be part of the project”, he continued, “They started talking about their lives and I started to create something that would merge what people already know from Dani and not make it feel so drastic now that she’s going to sing in Spanish. I wanted something that was a bridge between what people are used to hearing from her and something that people on the Latin side can digest.”
Along with “Falta”, Tainy had the honor of working on the soundtrack of the upcoming Spongebob movie and has released the latest single, “Krabby Step” featuring Tyga, Swae Lee, and Lil Mosey.
For this song, Tainy states that he started working on the instrumentals for the project, and then the brainstorming process began.
“Once the team started to come together on this project, we started brainstorming on who would be perfect for the track. Tyga was the first person to come in and lay his verse down, then Lil Mosey, who was in town during that time, vibed with the song, and Swae Lee was also a fit for the song.”
